Macron encourages entrepreneurs

A Singaporian entrpreneur left France 14 years ago to set up his robotic entreprise. But following the election of Monsieur Macron as president of France he now feels motivated by what Monsieur MACRON is trying to acheive in France. In October 2017 he had the chance to speak to Mr Macron at the VivaTech, a tech conference in Paris and tell him his future plans which include choosing Paris for their first European office which will employ up to 30 people. The Singaporian entrepreneurs was selected to meet Mr Macron as the French president  hopes to attract 5,000 start-ups and 1,000 investors.

Mr Macron toured the three-day event on Thursday and revealed measures to lure foreign entrepreneurs to France and foster tech entrepreneurship innovation, including the creation of a €10bn fund. “I want France to be a start-up nation. A nation that thinks and moves like a start-up,” he said. Facing competition from other European capitals, Mr Macron is eager to cement France’s rival claims to European tech leadership. And the 39-year-old French president being something of a start-up himself  after creating his "République En Marche" party only last year as part of his first run for office he could scarcely have had a more motivated audience or one more sympathetic to his core message of reviving and reforming France’s economy by encouraging innovated entrepreneurs.

France is launching the world’s largest startup campus in a converted railway depot in Paris, and it’s keeping the door open for those from underprivileged backgrounds. The space, now dubbed Station F but previously known as the 1920s-era freight hall Halle Freyssinet, opened its doors this week to eligible startups and entrepreneurs from around the world. The building is 366,000 square feet and contains 3,000 desks, an onsite restaurant and bar, and eight event spaces.

La French Tech

La French Tech

To make France a “Digital Republic”, the Government has launched a major collective effort to bolster the growth and standing of French digital start-ups. After a year spent stimulating a network of start-up ecosystems through the certification of nine French Tech centres, French Tech switched up a gear in 2015 to shape its international dimension, notably through the French Tech Hub label, aimed at providing a framework for French Tech communities in the world’s major innovation centres.
