Grants Funding and Aid for Entrepreneurs - Social or Commercial

Grants for Entrepreneurs

Grants, funding and aid are non-repayable funds given or gifted by one party, the grant provider, often a government body, organisation, foundation or a trust, to a entrepreneur often, but not always, a nonprofit association, educational institution, enterprise or an individual. In order to receive a grant, some form of "Grant Writing" often referred to as either a proposal, proposition or an application is required.
Most grants are made to fund a specific project and require some level of planning, compliance and reporting.

The process involves an applicant submitting a proposal (or submission) to a potential grant provider or funder, either on the applicant's own initiative or in response to a request for proposal from the funder. Other grants can be given to entrepreneurs who seek to start a small enterprise whether it be socially or commercially. Grants for social projects require grant seekers to have some form of tax-exempt status, be a registered nonprofit, association or an organization.

The Grant Providers page of this website will give you the contact information and links to several grant providers.
